elpa-parsebib software package provides Emacs Lisp library for parsing .bib files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install elpa-parsebib
elpa-parsebib is installed in your system.
Make ensure the elpa-parsebib package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep elpa-parsebib *
You will get with elpa-parsebib package name, version, architecture and description in a table
